Suspected for the murder of an elderly couple in Dropull, Gjirokastra Prosecution Office demands imprisonment for Th.M. on charges of "Murder committed under other qualifying circumstances".

Based on the denouncemts provided by Gjirokastër Local Police Directorate, indicating that citizens K.I. and K.I. were found deceased in their home in Bodrisht village, Dropull Municipality, showing signs of violence, Gjirokastra Prosecution Office has registered the criminal proceedings No. 240/2024 for the offense of " Murder committed under other qualifying circumstances," against two or more persons, as stipulated by Article 79/dh of the Criminal Code.
 
Under the guidance of e Gjirokastra Prosecution Office, an investigative team was assembled. Upon arriving at the crime scene, preliminary investigative measures were undertaken, including thorough examination of the surroundings, analysis of the victims' bodies, and interrogation of individuals possessing pertinent information relevant to the inquiry into the village residents and other associated individuals, alongside scientific examinations and assessments.

Through a comprehensive review of the investigative steps taken thus far, there exists substantial evidence pointing to the involvement of Th.M. in the commission of the criminal offenses of " Murder committed under other qualifying circumstances," against two or more persons  and "Unlawful possession and manufacturing of firearms, explosive devices, and ammunition," as stipulated in Articles 79/dh and 278/3 of the Criminal Code.

Under these circumstances, on May 4, 2024, the prosecuting authority issued an order for the apprehension of Th.M. Subsequently, on May 6, 2024, the prosecutor submitted a formal reqeuest to the Gjirokastër District Court, seeking validation of the detention and imposition of the security measure of "Rermand in Custody" for Th.M. During the court session convened on May 8, 2024 Gjirokastër District Court duly validated the detention and ordered the imposition of the security measure of Remand in Custody' for Th.M.
