General Prosecutor Olsian Çela and EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, met yesterday to discuss on issues pertaining to the proficient functioning of the judicial system and its role in the process of integration.

During the meeting, strong emphasis was placed on the critical importance of prioritizing the implementation of EU recommendations, alongside the support that the EU can provide to the prosecution. Ambassador Gonzato, particularly, assured the backing of the EU delegation in Albania for the establishment of an effective case management system within the prosecution.

The General Prosecutor also highlighted the concern regarding the lack of an adequate infrastructure in certain prosecution offices and courts across the country, as well as the absence of a clear perspective to address this issue.
