Tirana Prosecution Office strikes at the hub of the production of counterfeit documents for trafficking narcotics and illicit goods towards England, one is apprehended. 

Tirana Prosecution Office demanded the security measure of “Remand in custody” for the citizen Zh.L., an IT specialist, at Korça District Court, under charges of the criminal offenses "Forgery of documents", "Fraud", and "Assistance for illegal border crossing" as provided by articles 186, 143, and 298 of the Penal Code.
Out of the investigations within criminal proceeeding no. 617 of the year 2024, it emerged gthat the citizen Zh.L., with good computer skills, has set up his own stationary store, which is suspected to serve as a base for producing counterfeit documents not only for individual passage to EU countries but primarily for trafficking narcotics and other illicit items towards England.
After proactive investigative actions including, surveillance, wiretapping, and simulated purchases, a mechanism was unveiled where high-quality documents were produced equiped with security codes capable of circumventing police control. As specialists concluded their investigations, it was revealed that citizen Zh.L. is a pivotal figure within this network, facilitating not only illegal border crossings through document forgery but also the passage of individuals via alternative routes like truck transport.
Information was collected through operational channels by Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crime Section indicates that various citizens, in collaboration with each other towards payment, assist certain individuals for illicit border crossing through the falsification of European states' identity cards, mainly Italian identity ones.
Through these counterfeit cards, these citizens, by avoiding controls, facilitated the trafficking of narcotics and other illicit items not only within EU countries but with a final destination in England.
