Kukës Prosecution Office demands the security measure of “ Suspension from carrying out a public duty or service” against the police officer K.K., under the charge of “Abuse of office” as stipulated in Article 248 of the Criminal Code.

During environmental surveillance and phone interceptions under criminal case No. 78 of 2024, in cooperation with the Police Oversight Agency (POA), suspicions arose that Police Officer K.K. favored acquaintances by leveraging his duty in the urban and interurban traffic service of Kukës Local Police Directorate. He favored them by exempting from fines or allowing them to pass checkpoints without police inspection. 

The Court, following the Prosecution's request, decided to suspend K.K. from duty, with investigations ongoing for other traffic control personnel.
