Representatives of the justice institutions of Central Asian countries conduct a study visit to the General Prosecutor's Office

A group of representatives of the justice institutions of Central Asian Countries (Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan), conducted a study visit at General Prosecution Office in the framewok of the project "Safe Migration in Central Asia (SMICA, 2019-2024)".

Present were also Mrs. Mariana Meshi, the Executive Director of the "Different & Equal" organization, in the capacity of contact person and from the General Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Kostaq Beluri, Prosecutor, Mrs. Juna Pampuri and Mrs. Blerina Lule, Coordinators of Victims.

The participants were introduced to the organization and functioning of the Albanian Prosecutor's Office, while emphasis was placed on the cooperation that the General Prosecutor's Office has with all state structures and non-profit organizations that work in the fight against human trafficking. The attendees were able to exchange different experiences on the handling of cases in their country and were informed about how these cases are investigated and handled in the Albanian justice institutions.

Albania was selected for this study visit as a country that has developed models and a very good practice of implementing the Transactional Human Trafficking Referral Mechanism.
